Getting Started With ATMOSFAR
ATMOSFAR is a paid Early Access game for Windows PC on Steam, with single-player and online co-op for up to four players. The earlier free demo has been removed; use the paid Steam release to play now.
Demo, Price, Platforms and Release Questions
- How do I get ATMOSFAR, and what happened to the demo?
- Buy the Early Access release from ATMOSFAR's Steam page to play now. The earlier free Steam Next Fest demo was removed, and the current Steam page has no replacement demo download. The paid Early Access game contains substantially more content, including two explorable regions, three Wasp classes, the Cloud Cruiser and cooperative multiplayer. Older demo walkthroughs can differ from the released game's objectives and controls, so follow the prompts in your installed game.
- Which platforms and storefronts can I use?
- The current playable release is ATMOSFAR for Windows PC through Steam. SHUEISHA GAMES said on October 30, 2026 that the Epic Games Store version would arrive later. Use the Windows Steam product for the current download. If you want to play on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, macOS or Linux, check for a dedicated release announcement and product listing before buying.
- Has ATMOSFAR released, and when will Early Access end?
- Yes, ATMOSFAR launched into Early Access on October 29, 2026. The developer estimates roughly 9–12 months in Early Access, with the possibility of extending development to add more features. That estimate is a development window, so use future announcements for a firm full-release date. The roadmap includes further content and system updates before version 1.0.
- Why does ATMOSFAR run badly even when my PC meets the requirements?
- Apog Labs has acknowledged disappointing launch performance, so meeting the requirements does not guarantee smooth performance in every situation. Patch EA 1.0-4 temporarily disabled DLAA upscaling because of inefficient rendering behavior. Further performance and stability improvements were planned, but there is no developer-established fix for every complaint. When reporting poor performance, include your hardware specifications, graphics settings and any upscaling option you use.
- Will there be another free demo before I buy?
- The current Steam page offers the paid Early Access release, and the previous free demo has been removed. Check that product page for any future demo offering before planning to try ATMOSFAR for free. Older demo videos can help you look at the game, but their objectives and controls may differ from the current release.

What Comes Later in Early Access
Early Access launched with two of the three planned major world regions available. The planned Rime Update introduces the remaining region, the Scout Wasp and the conclusion of the main story. Keep that distinction in mind when deciding whether to begin now or wait for more story content.
The Vagabond Update focuses on quality-of-life improvements and player-focused items and functionality, while the Blue Side Update expands camp, Wasp and Cloud Cruiser systems. The Singularity Update focuses on deeper gameplay systems shaped by community feedback, and version 1.0 marks the departure from Early Access. The developer plans to provide more detailed roadmap information as updates approach.
